Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

Happy Mother’s day to any mommas reading this blog! Hope your day is lovely and you are honored as you should be!

This little plate was given to me by my mom when my son was a wee little one. Those years go by fast.

My boy is now a grown man, it hardly seems real.

Wish I could see my mom today.

I went to see my mom on mother’s day and she showed me her hand made aprons and dish towels, they are so lovely and well done. She usually makes them for gifts and donates them to various causes. In spite of painful arthritis she still enjoys creating and takes great care in choosing the patterns and colors etc. So, I suggested to my mom to let me try and sell some of her pieces online and she agreed and so I have uploaded several things to her newly created etsy shop. If you need a gift please consider my mom’s shop! Its called Ceci which is her nickname and short for Cecilia. Excited! This is my favorite of the ones I have listed, the colors are so vibrant.

Fed Ex

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Fed Ex arrived with a sweet bouquet of roses for Mother’s Day from my very sentimental brother. Its good to be loved. I hope all the mommas out there are duly honored, after all, you wouldn’t be here without one.

Small mini pale apricot colored roses, adorable.

At the base, forms for my watermelon birds in three dee

Based on a dream I had, where I saw a batch of watermelon birds flying right at me in full color.

I designed my piece for the Canteen Gallery in Canada with them in mind. You see the watermelon birds spitting their black seeds at a naked impostor!

I plan to do a painting as well, but the birdies will have human faces.

the best thing about being an artist; letting your imagination go where it will…

And everything else too, cuz for me nothing is quite as wonderful as living the art full life.

Especially on a gorgeous southern California day like today, what a gift!

These are some of my giclees on canvas. I am really delighted about the quality of them as they look exactly like the originals. I commissioned about a hundred wood blocks like the one on the right side edge of the table; you can see the slider hole for hanging and they are cut to the exact size. Plus I thought you might like to see my colorful table cloth with roses from the yard and a little box of godiva chocolates I gave myself for mothers day ;D

below is a giclee of my painting "Sad" and a myerscho piece that I heart and above that the inimitable Frida.
